Commercial team: Greengage, Campden BRI, Tioga
Project Aims: to create an environmental indicator and animal welfare monitoring system for intensive poultry production units.
Rationale: Real time monitoring of welfare and environmental parameters would improve productivity and welfare by enabling early and precise intervention.
Underpinning Science: Welfare measures which have been scientifically validated will be further developed to allow automation in the sensory system. These measures are: image analysis, vocalisations and thermography.
